John McGovern is CEO & Owner of Grimes, McGovern & Associates (GMA), a leading lower middle-market M&A firm advising media, events, and information services businesses globally, with offices in Miami (HQ), Atlanta, Los Angeles, South America, and Hong Kong.

John brings over 30 years of strategy and business development experience across the global media, events, and information services industries, having previously held senior positions at Thomson Financial, Fair Disclosure Financial Network, and Dow Jones/Factiva.
Notable GMA transactions include: Future of Memory & Storage to Terrapinn; Reliability Web and The Lead to Nineteen Group; MJBiz to EmeraldX; Ultima Media's Auto Events business (spanning 10 countries, including China, Russia, India, and Brazil) to Germany's Süddeutscher Verlag; UK-based SMi Group's Defense/Pharma event business to SAE International; StormCon to Endeavor Business Media; and Eaton Hall to Clarion Events.

Outside of work, John is an avid tennis player, foodie, and movie buff, with a particular fondness for spy films.
