MEET OUR DECEMBER 2024 JUDGING PANEL

Ian Bamford Founder at Foundry 12

Ian Bamford

Founder at Foundry 12

A brand-led, strategic thinker, I help organisations understand their brand is their competitive advantage. And work with them to deliver meaningful marketing that makes them matter to their target audience. Marketing that tells a brand's story, meets the needs of their customers and builds a stronger business.

What main reason would you give to urge our community to submit an entry for these awards?

Award wins, and nominations, aren't just ego boosting trophies to place in reception and gloat about. They're judged by peers and people within your industry so carry weight. Externally they're a positive endorsement of your capabilities and expertise. They signal to the industry your ability to meet challenges and deliver successful results for your clients. And internally they serve to motivate your team and install a sense of pride in where they work. Entering awards has the potential to help drive your business's growth and attract talent.

What you are most excited to see in a submission?

Without knowing which award you're judging it's detail, and a clear result. The amount of attention to detail that's paid to an entry tells me if the entrant really believes in what they're submitting. If they do, that'll come through as passion and it'll be a compelling entry.

What you are most excited to see in a submission?

What I am most excited to see in a submission for the marketing awards is a campaign that not only delivers exceptional results but also demonstrates a clear understanding of the target audience and the event's unique value proposition. I'd love to read campaigns that are original, innovative and effective, showcasing a creative approach that resonates with the audience and drives measurable outcomes. Additionally, if they could demonstrate a well-integrated marketing strategy that leverages multiple channels to achieve its goals, has brand consistency and finally considers sustainability factors. Being recognised with an award, however, increases your credibility with clients and stakeholders, reinforcing their trust in your ability to deliver high-quality events. It's a great way to boost the morale of the team as well - that their wins, big or small, are counted and recognised - to celebrate the achievements of your team and the success of your events, bring attention to the impact and value you create!
